Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. She is an actor or singer, as well as dancer. Her first Broadway roles, she played in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that brought us Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment trial in the United States in more than 100 years. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits her time between Los Angeles.
