Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most popular actors. Her fame is for playing strong characters that are equally at risk. Born to a renowned playwright father, but was raised by a single mom, who earned her living as a nurse, she became interested in theatre while working with her father during the summer, eventually studying acting, first at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Her Broadway career shortly after graduating, and then made her TV debut in the next year. Since then, she has appeared in countless films and stage and television productions. Through her entire career, she's won many awards, which include 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Although she received many awards through the years, performing is always her main interest.
