Young has also produced numerous independently-produced films in the country, including the popular Sundance film Dax Shepard's The Freebie and A Country Remedy starring Joshua Leonard. Both of which she assisted create filming for in her home state of North Carolina. In 2016, she was a part of the film crime drama The Night Stalker directed by Megan Griffiths about the serial killer Richard Ramirez. She played a supporting part of Bernard and Huey, an independent comedy directed by David Koechner and Jim Rash. A live action Disney version of A Wrinkle in Time, with Oprah Winfrey Reese Witherspoon Mindy Kaing and Reese Witherspoon, in 2018, was her first big role.
